6 Trends You Didn’t Know About from Milan Fashion Week ’15

As Milan Fashion Week Spring Summer 2015 wraps up, we are here listing down the fashion trends which are going to make a mark on the fashion circuit in the upcoming season. Take a sneak-peek:

1. Sheer Florals

Time & again, we’ve seen florals take over the runways this season. Whether it was India’s very own Lakme Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week or now at Milan Fashion Week. What we loved about the trend here? Well, the fact that designer’s used two key trends together this season: sheer & florals, ensuring all our ensembles literally bloom this spring. Aquilano Rimondi and Blumarine Spring/Summer 2015 line depicted the blend of both the trends beautifully.

2. White on White

White jeans may be a no-no post Labor Day, but get ready people, because white is going to be back, and how, this coming spring. We witnessed wondrous white everything – from layered dresses to sharp cut a-line skirts at Aigner’s runway show. No matter what your style, numerous designers showcased their own takes on the emerging white trend at Milan Fashion Week. What’s even better? The fact that we saw all other trends – layers, sheers, florals & embroideries – coming together in a crisp, sharp & clean white palette.

It seems the color block trend refuses to fade away! Ruling the fashion circuit from quite a few seasons, this trend will return in new and creative ways. Dsquared and Jil Sander celebrated the contrasting and complimentary color fashion on their shows, hence sealing this as a major trend for S/S 2015. For an ultra feminine look, you can dress up in sheer maxi dress in cupcake color blocked hues, but for a chic look, clubbing together monochromatic black and white color blocking as showcased by Emporio Armani would also be a good idea.

4. Back to the 70’s

Fashion goes flamboyant with the return of the retro 70s. From jumpsuits, bell bottoms, skin-tight t-shirts, to neck scarves, butterfly collars and flared trousers, are going to make a comeback. Max Mara’s top to bottom suede style portrayal and Emilio Pucci’s flared trouser and fitted jacket look will take you back to the timeless 70s.

5. Razzle and Dazzle!

It’s time to rise and shine with sequins, shimmer, gloss and sparkle! A dash of glitter on tees, metallic dresses and pleated skirts are definitely going to glam up your spring summer 2015 closet and jazz up your day to evening wear look. Au Jour le Jour’s blingy skirt suits and Versace’s display of sparkle fashion will leave you spellbound. What more? A sequinned sheath dress with minimal accessories will be an absolute hit for the party season!

6. Denim Fever

One wardrobe essential that never loses its charm, irrespective of the emerging and fading trends is denims! Yes, for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2015 you can go on for an all denim look, like Fendi. You can sprinkle some colors to this all-blue look by pairing it with printed shirts or look elegant by teaming it up with sheer nude tops, just the way Gucci and Alberta Ferretti showcased at Milan Fashion Week S/S’ 15. So, elevate your summer style quotient with your indigo soul mate.
