Designer Varun Bahl showcased his couture collection ‘Song of the Flower’ at India Couture Week at an off-site location in Delhi.
The offsite was held in a colonial bungalow featuring a long runway with roses on the edges and spectacular chandeliers adding to the grandeur of the show. Amid a lavish dinner setting resembling a high profile wedding, we couldn’t help but swoon at the set up featuring stunning floral arrangements and an elaborate dinner spread by Fio.
The bridal collection featured outfits such as anarkalis, lehengas, dupattas, saree gowns, jackets and wide legged trousers for womenswear in colours like pink, blue, ivory, old rose, black, shades of red and purple and gold. Varun Bahl‘s menswear line included sherwani, dhotis and kurta pyjamas in shades of red, black, white, blue, and pink. Both menswear and womenswear featured floral prints and patterns, embroidery and embellishments in fabrics such as tulle, silk and georgette.
The collection focussed on delicate and feminine beauty of the contemporary woman and aptly showcased Varun Bahl’s fine craftsmanship.
