At the recently held GQ Men of the Year Awards, there was much ado about Deepika Padukone and Aditi Rao Hydari. To begin with, both women looked absolutely stunning. More interestingly however, both their looks were strikingly similar while altogether unique at the same time.
Deepika and Aditi were both dressed in exquisite snow white Garuav Gupta gowns. Both gowns were intricately embellished and had comparable peek-a-boo detailing. While the ensembles themselves were quite similar in appearance, Deepika’s and Aditi’s overall looks couldn’t have been more different. Considering both of them wore their hair down and poker straight, the difference in their look can be attributed to the way each of them did their make-up.
Deepika’s look was all about the drama – dark, heavily lined, smoky eyes were the focal point of her make-up. The rest of her face was kept quite fresh and minimal with a nude lip and barely there blush. Deepika has beautiful, big eyes and the heavy, almost Goth inspired dramatic eye-make up really brought out the warm golden brown hue in her eyes.
Aditi Rao Hydari
Aditi’s look in contrast was dainty and demure. She chose to go au natural, with a fresh face and very neutral make-up. Aditi opted for a frosty, pale pink lip and added on some colour and bronzer to her cheeks, making for a very pretty glow. Her eye make-up was quite minimal with some shimmer to compliment the white gown and a little bit of liner and mascara.
All in all, Aditi’s look was more fresh-faced and demure, while Deepika’s look oozed drama and power. We think both women completely owned their respective looks and we definitely can’t pick one over the other!
One thing’s for sure though – your make-up can clearly make all the difference! The same/similar outfit can give you completely different looks depending on how you choose to do your make-up. From powerful to playful, fierce to flirty, dramatic to demure – it appears the trick is all in the make-up and the wave of that brush!
