[Celeb Edit] Daddy’s Little Girl

Bollywood’s Most Famous Father- Daughter Relationships

Everyone likes a good love story. Typically, you think of the romantic handsome young man and the beautiful young girl and their tragic/dramatic/happy tale of love. However, there are other kinds of love stories that we oft forget but are sometimes so much more special. The love story between a father and daughter is one such example. The purest form of unconditional love, there are many father-daughter relationships that are extremely special and aspirational.  Just look at some our favourite Bollywood celebs for example – the father-daughter bonds in tinsel town are legendary and here we look at a few.

Alia Bhatt-Mahesh Bhatt

Alia Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt are one of the cutest father-daughter duos around. The young bubbly Alia is often heard talking about how her daddy is the best and how much he inspires her. On his part, it is very clear from his interviews and the way he dotes on her, that Alia is the apple of Mr. Bhatt’e eye.

Deepika Padukone-Prakash Padukone

With the badminton superstar Prakash Padukone’s recent foray into television commercials, we think its fair game to include this pair in the list. Deepika has clearly inherited her fathers lean, wiry frame and dashing good looks apart from of course some mad baddy skills! These two look adorable together on screen and the recent reel life jewelry ad where they show-off their father-daughter bond is clearly a true reflection of their real life bond.

Shraddha Kapoor-Shakthi Kapoor

We are just saying what everyone else has thought as some point – everyone was surprised to learn that the petite and delicate Shraddha Kapoor is Shakthi Kapoor’s offspring! While he may be the quintessential Bollywood villain, when it comes to his daughter, Shakthi Kapoor is every inch the hero. Shraddha has often said her father is her backbone and she has learned immensely from him.

Anil Kapoor-Sonam Kapoor

It’s hard to say who is more famous within this duo. One things for sure, both are extremely good looking and highly entertaining! Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor share what seems to be more of a friendship and we think that’s quite cool! Their joint appearance on Koffee With Karan was extremely entertaining and their camaraderie was evident.

Athiya Shetty-Sunil Shetty

Newcomer Athiya Shetty is making all the waves in tinsel town much like her daddy Sunil Shetty did in his day. While you don’t hear too much about this pair, the few public appearances they have made together reveal a special father-daughter bond. A look at Athiya’s instagram account also shows how highly she thinks of her father. Aww!

Sonakshi Sinha-Shatrughan Sinha

The actor-turned-politician and his actress daughter seem to share a common passion for laughs and giggles. Of course, they are equally unabashed in their comments, earning them the monickers of Shotgum Senior and Shotgun Junior respectively. You can always spot the two sharing a laugh and Sonakshi’s tweets on her fathers birthday are adorable.

Priyanka Chopra-Ashok Chopra

Technically, the late Ashok Chopra isn’t from the film fraternity, but we couldn’t write this piece without including this pair. Priyanka’s love for her father is legendary, with the actress even sporting a Daddy’s Little Girl tattoo on her wrist. When Mr. Chopra passed away, Priyanka was bereft and claims it was in her father’s memory that she found the strength to pick herself up and carry on. Her dad also set a high bar for PC’s suitors – he advised her to only settle down with the man who could give her a diamond bigger than the rock he had gifted her.
