[Designer Focus] Lacquer Embassy

Gentlemen’s Essentials – Shirts, pocket squares, bow ties, ties & scarves in handcrafted designs for the dapper gentleman!

“Lacquer is a surface coating provided by a craftsman as a final finishing touch. It resonates the words ‘polished’ & ‘finished’. The word ‘embassy’ denotes a space that contains what I love the most: a menagerie of my creations, accouterments and thoughts, all brought together in a single institution. This space is here to make you a part of my ‘universe’. ” says founder Nikhil Sharma.

A graduate from NIFT, Nikhil went on to pursue his Masters Degree in Design from Nottingham Trent University in the UK. After receiving Distinction in his M.A. he worked as a senior menswear designer in London for British high street brands such as Chilli Pepper and NEXT. His travels around the world, together with his propensity for experimentation and his cosmopolitan character, catapulted him into the international market, and have continued to provide a source of inspiration.

Nikhil’s Lacquer Embassy combines classic influences with modern culture, focusing heavily on attention to detail and minimalist silhouettes. The label aims to encompass the fusion of the relaxed elegance of youth and luxury with a definite sense of modern aesthetics. The designs are brought about from an uncomplicated perspective and his inspiring ability to be gentlemanly, yet relaxed and unpretentious. His designs are hybrids that reflect today’s lifestyles without being rooted in any particular time or era.
