Sartorial Headlines Worth Knowing From India and Around The World

1. Louis Vuitton SS’16 (Series 4): Starring Jaden Smith:

“Series 4”, the Spring-Summer 2016 campaign by Louis Vuitton continues the visual dialogue between several artists of imagery that started with “Series 1”. Once again, the images comprise a triptych in which each section echoes and completes the other, weaving a narrative about a heroine whose multiple facets Nicolas Ghesquière wished to explore. The authors of this latest chapter are Bruce Weber, Square Enix (the Japanese video game and manga creator) and Juergen Teller. Each one expresses a point of view about the muses of a new era.

Jaden Smith is the new face for Louis Vuitton and represents a generation that has assimilated the codes of true freedom, one that is free of manifestos and questions about gender. Wearing a skirt comes as naturally to him as it would to a woman who, long ago, granted herself permission to wear a man’s trench or a tuxedo.” says Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s Creative Director.

2. Reebok’s Special Valentine Day’s Release:

Reebok seems to be ready to woo us this Valentine’s Day as the premium sportswear brand preps for the release of a special edition Instapump Fury.

The footwear brand takes an all-white version of its love-it-or-hate-it silhouette, then splatters it with a series of faded stains that look like spilled water colors in shades of red, pink, grey and navy. A closer inspection will reveal “xox” written on the side of sneaker, as well as a couple of lipstick marks on the heel – a sight that all foot fetishists will be familiar with. The special edition will be available in stores from February.

He showcased more than 100 festive looks in tones of ivory, pale gold and blush with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan as his showstopper. The show ended with a standing ovation and while Vikram was taking his bow he thanked his crew and guests and announced to set up a care home for the elderly called Adhvan.

4. Grace Coddington Vogue Legend Steps Down As Creative Director:

Vogue’s legendary creative director Grace Coddington has revealed that she is stepping down from her position after almost 30 years, effective immediately.

A spokesperson for Vogue confirmed that the 74-year-old fashion legend will be stepping back from her day-to-day position at the publication, instead taking on the role of creative director-at-large, while working on other projects outside the publication as she has no plans to retire.

‘I really love Vogue, it’s been in my life always, they discovered me as a model at 19,’. ‘I’m not running away from Vogue, because it has opened so many doors.’ says Grace. But it will be nice to collaborate, and nice to go out and give talks to people.“It’s just another approach, I’m certainly not going into retirement,” she said. “I don’t want to sit around.”
