A Red Carpet Round-Up From The 88th Academy Awards
The Oscars this time saw the biggest names and the most glamorous fashion. Awards season may begin all the way back with film-festival and premieres months back, but everybody is aware that the best looks are saved for Oscar night, still the glamorous and most star studded red carpet in Hollywood.
Bright colors, whites & blacks, backless gowns, laces, sheers, peekaboo and embellishments galore held strong as red carpet trends at the Oscars this year. The Oscar so white – Ronney Mara, PC, Olivia Wilde and Guliana Rancic were the trend setters for the evening, as they a made a kick-ass appearance in the classic white colored beautiful dresses. Be it Golden Globe Awards, the Critics Choice Awards or Filmfare Awards, the trend to have emerged the strongest is the abundance of the color white.
From peekaboo gowns to laced up dresses and an embellished galore, in the hues of the color white ruled the Oscras red carpet. A lot of A-Listers were seen from the tinsel town, but our favorites were – Priyanka Chopra in Zuhiar Murad white peekaboo gown, Olivia Wilde in a mimicking snow white dress, Rooney Mara in a Givenchy dress, Lady Gaga in strapless white jumpsuit with a train, Cate Blanchett in Armani blue floral and bird dress, Jennifer Lawrence in black laced up Dior gown and Kate Winslet in Ralph Lauren dress and Nirav Modi jewelry.
Blues & purples also rules the red carpet at Oscars this year. Best Actress nominee Brie Larson set the tone in a blue ruffled Gucci, while Reese Witherspoon and Tina Fey looked like sisters in similar rich purple gowns. Sofia Vergara rocked the red carpet in a plunging Marchesa dress in midnight blue. Naomi Watts looked like a gorgeous mermaid in a fully sequined column dress in ombré blue and purple. Mark Ruffalo wore a blue tuxedo in line with the what seemed to be the color theme of the evening. Comedian Tina Fey slayed the Oscars red carpet in a strapless purple Versace gown.
