Exclusively Round-up: AIFW Day 4

Day 4 of the AIFW was nothing short of brilliant! Jaw dropping street style, astonishingly good looking models and th creme de la creme of the fashion industry aside, the fashion the runways put forth was amazing. For those who came there for a dose of fashions best, it was definitely all that and more!

The day started with IKAI by Ragini Ahuja, ILK and Lovebirds. As expected IKAI’s show was a beautiful marriage of poetry with fashion – dreamy sketches and floral motifs made for a stunning show. Lovebirds in contrast was all about structure and geometric patterns while ILK showcased softer hues like minty pastels coupled with fluid silhouettes and feminine fabrics.

Following this was a stunning show by Bodice and Eka. Eka’s line was all about fluid silhouettes that made for chic winter layering in a jeweled color palette. Ruchika Sachdevas Bodice showcased pleats and stripes in military-esque fashion.

The Anavila show that followed was one to watch for with its take on Indian norm core – sari’s coupled with pants and sweaters in frosty hues made for a surreal sartorial moment. The Ashima Leena show that followed was all about print on print in sunset hues – the line from the fashion veterans was simple, elegant and stunning.

Next on the roster was Mandira Wirk, Niki Mahajan and pero by Aneeth Arora. Malaika Arora Khan closed for Mandira Wirk who showcased a line full of regal silhouettes, floral embroidery and a lush color palette. Niki Mahajan was all about the rich scarlet and red hues and delicate play of lace in contemporary Indian silhouettes. Pero by Aneeth Arora brought alive the classroom on the runway (literally!) with the launch of Moja Pero, a line of mismatched knee high socks. She also showcased jackets, culottes, skirts and dresses in a bold checkered pattern.

Day 4 ended with a show by none other than the ever youthful Namrata Joshipura. The show stopper Athiya Shetty did just that in a slinky, shimmery black jumpsuit. Spiky headphones and heavily embellished  caps coupled with the stunning garments were a true testament to the queen of party glams style ethos. Simply put, it was a spectacular show!
